Mishpacha: A Kosher Dining Hall and Cultural Center
If there is one thing in this world that brings joy to all and creates unity … it is food. Food allows us to understand other ways of life, bridge divides, and share history. As a Jewish woman, Serena is no stranger to the hate and vitriol rampant in society. Due to technology and social media, the world is smaller than ever, and it is extremely important to learn about other cultures in order to foster understanding instead of hate. This is the driving factor behind Mishpacha, a theoretical kosher dining hall and cultural center in the heart of D.C.
As DC lacks establishments offering kosher food, this project aims to create a welcoming space for the ever-growing local Jewish community and for all those interested in learning more about Jewish history and culture.
