Artist Live/Work Residence: Egan Frantz

In the world of professional artistry, creating is more than just a 9 to 5. Art is a way of life, a form of personal expression, and a means of connection. This theoretical project aims to provide a combined gallery, studio, and living space for an artist of choice (Egan Frantz).

As a philosophical visionary, Egan Frantz breaks the norms of societal thought and action through his paintings. While abstract, the disruptive nature of Egan’s art is apparent in his use of organic forms amongst a grid. This design, based on his piece “Rocking Horse” (shown below), mirrors his artistic efforts by breaking the grid. Strong curves and organic forms lie amidst strict linear patterns to pique curiosity and leave the user thinking about the space.
